EVAPORATION: Your pool will lose water via splash-out and evaporation. Water will evaporate. Conditions such as wind and humidity will accelerate evaporation. Here is another common factor that will accelerate evaporation in cooler climates (near Autumn):
- If you experience cool temperatures in the morning, followed by unseasonably warm temperatures in the afternoon, again followed by cool temperatures that evening, your water will evaporate quickly. This is even further accelerated if you have a heater.
Regardless of the source of water loss (splash-out or evaporation), make sure you use your garden hose (or automatic fill line) to refill the pool to the standard operating water level (half way up the skimmer). If the water loss is drastic, inspect the equipment to determine if it may be leaking. If not, consult your local pool professionals for advice.
